Continuing with the 'Chapters' playlists, for round two we move from the soft, icy soundscapes and bass laden grooves of Chillout Space into a psychedelic blur of synths, neon, hedonism and funk inspired by the glamour and glitz of 1980s Miami. Taking cues from the music and culture of the time but with a range of songs, plucked from more recent times featuring both familiar and more unfamiliar artists. Inspired by Scarface, Miami Vice, those Ministry of Sound 80's compilations and a little Vice City, here is Electric Nostalgia.
This second playlist jumps straight in with a B-side from trio Miike Snow's second album that engages with catchy keys and a bass line straight from a South Beach montage before taking a selection of nifty club numbers swilling with hooks, flair and quirky touches. Superlove sees Avicii adopting a more minimalist approach based on a deft synth hook whilst maintaining his trademark style, where tracks such as Tapes & Money focus on a slightly deeper, more underground feel.
